Tap the arrow on the video
Open the video you want to cook and tap Share, the arrow on the right side. It is the same button you use to send a video to a friend.

Pick Hugo from the share sheet. If you do not see it, tap Copy link instead and paste it into Hugo. The short vm.tiktok.com links work too.

That is the normal case on TikTok, and it is the one Hugo is built for. Hugo listens to the audio and writes down the quantities as they are said, so a video with no caption and no text still comes back as a full ingredient list.
The text on screen disappears too fast to read. Does Hugo catch it?
Yes. Hugo reads the video frame by frame, so a measurement that sits on screen for half a second is caught the same as one that stays for ten. That is usually where the amounts hide on quick-cut videos.
Does it work with photo slideshows?
Yes. Slideshow posts, where the creator puts one step per slide, work the same as videos. Hugo reads every slide rather than just the cover image.
Can I paste a vm.tiktok.com link?
Yes. The short links TikTok generates when you tap Copy link work exactly like full ones. You can paste either into Hugo.
Do I need to log in to TikTok?
No. Hugo never asks for your TikTok password and never connects to your account. You share a public video the same way you would send it to a friend, and that is all Hugo sees.
What happens if the creator deletes the video?
Your recipe stays. Once Hugo has written it into your cookbook it is yours to keep, so a video that disappears from TikTok does not take dinner with it. The link back will stop working, but the recipe will not.
