Does this work with reels and normal posts?
Both. Reels, feed posts and carousels all work. Carousels are worth calling out: creators often split the ingredients across the first slide and the method across the rest, and Hugo reads all of them.
What if the recipe is in the comments?
That is the normal case on Instagram, and it is the case Hugo is built for. Hugo reads the creator’s pinned comment, which is where the measurements usually sit once the caption runs out of room.
Do I need to give Hugo my Instagram login?
No. Hugo never asks for your Instagram password and never connects to your account. You share a public post to Hugo the same way you would share it with a friend, and that is all Hugo sees.
What if the reel has no voiceover?
Plenty of reels show the recipe as text on screen without anyone saying a word. Hugo reads that on-screen text as well as the audio, so silent cooking videos still come through with the steps intact.
Does the creator still get credit?
Yes. Every saved recipe keeps a link back to the original post, so the creator is one tap away and you can always go back to watch the technique.
Can I save a private or a friends-only post?
No. Hugo can only read posts that are publicly viewable. If a post is private, restricted to close friends, or from an account you do not follow, Hugo has no way to see it.
